how do you select resolution for tv? (1 Viewer)

I want to know how you change the resolution the tv is displaying stuff in? I have a philips 37in lcd tv and dont see anything in the menu system to change the source resolution for the image.

Im not sure if it matters or not but im using component input at the moment because my HD up converting DVD player has not come yet.

Normally you don't need to change the resolution of the TV because the TV automatically switches to the proper handling of the input.

Usually the TV, CRT's too, display just one resolution on the screen and scale up or scale down all the inputs to match.

A few TVs require that you plug sources of some resolutions into one set of input jacks and plug sources of some other resolutions into a different set of input jacks.
