I'm trying to setup a backup routine in WinXP to grab My Documents on a recurring basis. WinXP's Backup is fine, except that it won't let me select the CDR drive as the destination for the backup. Why is that, and how can I make automatic backups to CDR or RW, with only a prompt to put the disc in when necessary?

Not sure if XP has a built in function for this, but there are a ton of 3rd party programs that will do this. There's one that I used for a while (can't remember the name of it of course) that worked fairly well.

Go to www.download.com and run a search for "CD backup" or something like that. You should get a whole list of programs you can try for free.
