I'm going to be buying some new speakers to go with my panasonic XR57 since the Insignia speakers I have hooked up to it are not at all to my liking. Just an awful pairing with this reciever. I'm looking to spend between up to $250 for a new pair of mains, so these are what I've been looking at.

I've been looking at the Primus 150s, bookshelf speakers, and the Primus 250s, and Wharfedale Diamond 8.3s, which are some nice looking floorstanding speakers.

The main reason I'm even looking at the 150s, http://www.crutchfield.com/S-66wcOU...arch=primus+150 is because I have speaker stands for the insignias I could use for the Primus 150s. I've also read some very good reviews on them and they are heavily discounted down to $120 for a pair at crutchfield.com.

The Primus 250's are discounted down to $250 per pair on the same site. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-66wcOU...arch=primus+250 The look like they would make for much better mains, but I don't see a lot about them online, whereas I have seen a ton of good reviews for the 150s. Are the 250s no good?

I've also looked at the Wharfedale Diamond 8.3s from Amazon.com. They are doscounted down to $199 for the pair. http://www.amazon.com/Wharfedale-Di...8&s=electronics , but they say they aren't in stock right now, so who knows when they will get them in.

I have seen other suggestions for the Onix x-ls bookshelf speakers as well. http://www.av123.com/products_produ...rs&product=82.1 These also seem to be well regarded, but are $220 for a pair. Are these worth the extra $100 over the Primus 150s? Will they sound better than the Wharfedale 8.3s or the Primus 250s?

If anyone has any advice, I would appreciate it.

Onix, maybe.. I have Ascend 170's on mine and it sounds great, though my rooms needs some work still. They are quite a bit more money though. Maybe the SVS speakers, IM not sure what they go for though.
