I'm moving into a smaller space with noise limitations so will need to do more headphone listening. My source will be Music Hall CD25; using the headphone amp in my Onkyo receiver.
I critically listen mostly to classical, opera, vocal jazz and Alison Krauss.

Headphones needs to sound good
and be comfortable for long listening periods (like listening to an entire Mahler symphony)

The phones will not be taken outside with portables

I'm looking at the Grado SR60 and SR80. Is the SR80 worth the extra money?

thanks

I bought the SR-80s myself, but I didn't get a chance to compare them to the SR-60s. Based on the reviews, the SR-80s put out mroe bass. And after watching Matrix Reloaded with them, I can fully vouch for that! :D

I own the SR-80's as well. For the money I think they sound fantastic, but comfortable... Well lets just say I've grown accustom to their lack of comfort. I'm good for about an hour with them. Their are a couple of tricks to making them more comfortable, such as replacing the ear cushions with ones from Senheiser, but I haven't bothered to do that.
