Ok, this is just my first impressions of opening the box. The box that the unit comes in is TINY, which means the unit is even smaller. the controller fits in your hands so smoothly.
Ok somethings that I have noticed:
Quiet, the unit makes little to no noise from about 4 feet away.
cables scream for monter cables especially after seeing the Xbox's AV cables.
ProLogic Rouge Leader is awesome, wish I had DPL2 :)
Load times are quick, quicker than any CD/DVD based console before.
Did I mention its tiny?
Why does Nintendo insist on giving you like 10 different informational pamplets?
I needed to change pants after playing RL for about 2 minutes.
more coming soon!

Someone who's priorities are so out of whack as to put eating BEFORE gaming doesn't deserve such a fine piece of equipment.
Surrender yours to me, immediately. :)

Kelley, you're in Tulsa, right?
I'm in OKC. Give me your address there. I'll be right up.

Let's see, Kelley's last post was at 7:05 CST...it's now about 9:55 CST. He has either passed out (with a smile on his face) or defending the universe from Imperial troopers.

cant post much as I am getting ready for work, but I will say this: the alliance is safe for now! I was up until 3am playing this beauty, and the majority of that time was spent with RS2. I did play Luigi for like 5 minutes, and raced a couple races with Wave Race......but RS2 is where its at! If you have $250 in your pocket sunday, you must get the 'Cube and RS2! You won't regret it.

Ok, after very little sleep, being late for work, etc. heres some more GameCube impressions:
Luigi's Mansion:
Did anyone play Stretch Panic? This game controls very similar to SP. Once you get the controls down you clean a room out pretty quickly. That is all I know about that as I barely played it!
Wave Race:
The way you can see things on the bottom of the water and how the water distorts them.......amazing. The control isn't very tight, but I think that was done on purpose to give you the feel of being on a real watercraft. So far to me the worst part about this game is the damn announcer......he just won't shut up!
Rouge Leader: Rouge Squadron 2:
Where do I begin? Have you seen the opening of this game yet? Brillant. The control is spot on. The digital click that the GCN does is used perfectly here. I am at a loss of words for this game. Have you seen the video of the level with the downed Star Destroyer? The way the sun reflects off of the water, trust me the video did it no justice. Sure there are a couple of blah levels, but Hoth is perfect.....man I can't wait to get to the final death star level. Oh the 3D cockpits are just WAY too cool. The targeting computer makes the game easy, but also takes away from the visuals so I barely have used it. If I were to review this game right now I would be forced to give it a 10.

Dan,
This bit of news will comfort you. It looks like I will be picking my Cube up on Thursday and will be playing Rogue Leader later that day. :)
Sorry, I just had to rub it in, since I am veeeerrrry jealous of you already seeing Harry Potter. :)

You know, about a month ago I was kind of doubtful of whether I would get the XBox, GCN, both or neither. After recent experiences, it looks like I'm all hyped for the Cube, with maybe an XBox purchase in early/mid 2002 if the games shake out. Congrats Kelley, don't let your eyes dry out...

I'm so pumped for Rogue Squadron but it's the ONLY game on the GC that I want. Grrr! 6 games on the XBox that I want vs. only 1 on the GC. Can anyone lend me one for a week? :).
Hehe. I'll get one in the middle of next year I guess. By then maybe more titles that I'm actually interested in will come out.

I'd do a review of Rogue Leader, but that would mean I would have to stop playing it.

Now, I'm going to go hide from the Wrath of Dan Brecher for a while.
