A plaque commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the American version of "Godzilla," known here as "Godzilla, King of the Monsters!" will be dedicated Saturday, March 25 at 11:00 a.m. at Belmont Elementary School, Vermont Avenue and First Street in Los Angeles. The public is invited.
The event is being co-sponsored by the Godzilla Society of North America and Platrix Chapter No. 2, E Clampus Vitus.
The school property was formerly the studios of Visual Drama, Inc. where it was 50 years ago this year that director Terry Morse directed actor Raymond Burr in his insert shots for the film. Morse's son, Terry Morse, Jr. will be joining us for the plaque dedication. Cleve Hall, who built the Godzilla suit for and played the Big G in "Pee-Wee's Big Adventure" will also be attending the dedication.
A post-dedication gathering will be held at Shakey's Pizza on Sunset Blvd. near Normandie Ave. in Hollywood.
