I thought he just found Minilla's egg?

Mothra, however, was clearly identified as female, since she laid eggs. (And acted like a "goddess" to the islanders.)
I always thought she/he was female, i guess i'm going to have to do some Googling now.

( After Googling this ) According to what i have read, in the Japanese versions they referred to Godzilla as it, the sex is not determined, in the English dubs they refer to Godzilla as male. If anyone has more info i'd like to hear it.

When I was young, my mother would take my brother and I to New York City. She would go off to do shopping and we would go to see a movie. Man, they had a ton on movie theatres all on one street, maybe 42nd? Anyhow, I rember one time where this monster was laying or covering her eggs and at that scene my brother said "OK we have to leave now and meet up with Mom" I thought he was kidding. He wasn't. So I was upset that I didn't get to see the rest of the movie. It was probably a double feature. Maybe it was Mothra.

I don't think Godzilla will be that big in the movie.

The first time I saw a movie at the LA Cinerama Dome it was Lost in Space. I enjoyed being at the Dome and the movie.

I liked the 98 version till they killed Godzilla. But, at the end one of the babies hatched and it was OK.

Godzilla looks absurdly big in that poster. It appears to show 15 story buildings that barely reach the upper part of his tail.

^ I hope that's it. he is too big in that poster. It would be fun to see how they deal with that size, but he doesn't have to be that big for an exciting film. In real life, if a real T-Rex or 2 appeared again out of nowhere it would be scary as hell. I think different from what they did in JP2....

That's pretty amazing if she let you and your brother go, unescorted, to 42nd Street! It was already pretty seedy by the time any Mothra movies were playing there. I made my first trip to 42nd Street when I was 18, accompanied by friends from the Bronx. We saw SHAFT and IT CONQUERED THE WORLD.

Extended trailer. I refuse to watch. Only thing I need to see further on Godzilla is my pre-ordered ticket information I need to present at the boxoffice.

Thinking I might give this a try. (I missed the '98 version when it came out and from everything I read at the time and have heard in the years since, it doesn't sound like that was the worst mistake I've ever made.)

When I saw the first (and second, for that matter) trailer for this movie, and the Ligeti music from "2001" started playing, my immediate reaction was "TOO SOON!". And then I figured that it's been 45 years since "2001" came out and probably most people in the multiplex who were watching the same trailer probably haven't even seen "2001". Part of me thought it was a really cool use of the music, really eerie, especially because I didn't realize it was the Godzilla trailer when it first started. And then there's the part of me having a little quiet rage temper tantrum sputtering "but..but..too..soon!"

I may just be overprotective of "2001" at this point :)

I didn't realize Elizabeth Olsen and Aaron Taylor-Johnson were in it. Do they get contaminated with Godzilla radiation and that's how they turn into Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch for Avengers 2? :D

I think that's it! Then Von Strucker scoops them up and puts them in their cells to cook.

The funny thing about that graphic is that the Raymond Burr version of Godzilla from the mid 50s says he's "over 400 ft tall". Translation error?

Or maybe not? Look at him with a 60 foot rail car in his mouth:

It always amazes me how people know a movie is bad after watching one trailer. As for me, this is the kind of move I want to succeed. I'll defer judgement.
I agree 100%.

If the other film was Three Stooges in Orbit , it probably was Mothra.
