I was wondering that, too, I think he was indeed Eastman.
BTW it would seem I posted prematurly, when I watched Moonlight the next morning the recording started right where GW's left off so I saw what I missed.
I blasted Satan's Contraption unjustly, my humble apologies...you no good, demon possessed piece of shit.
I keep forgetting to mention how nice it is to know that that punk Gabriel is not really Melinda's brother. I do wonder how he got his powers, but that's really not a new question since he was never supposed to be related to Melinda's mother. There's more to Tom Gordon in regards to the spirit world than we know.
Industry and Speculation:
I don't always like Jay Mohr, but he's become a good part of this season. I think he'd be missed. Losing Jim would be a bad thing, though. Unless it's because he's filming Green Lantern, which I'm really pulling for. I doubt if they would even think to look to him for the role, though.
She had every reason to take the name Clancy and dump the name Gordon in the first place, except that "Melinda Gordon" sounds slightly better.
Re: speculation of the shadow issue, I hope it's new Ned, and not either of the other two.
Why did Eastman bother trying to kill Gordon anyway, and why wait 20 some odd yrs? A bit extreme for revenge (or "sharing his pain"), and if it was to defend Melinda, it was a self fulfilling prophesy.
And why was the evil GW in cahoots with Gordon in the first place?
The product placement for James van praagh was a bit contrived.
Regarding the shadow bit there at the end, it had better not turn out that one of them is a ghost.
First off they could all see and hear each other, at least as far as I could tell, and the second i've seen ghosts on this show cast shadows before lol.
I think the implication is that one of the characters is going to die, but who knows. Maybe one of them cut themselves on a radioactive lightbulb and is now No-Shadow-Man.
I'm pretty sure that this bit of literal "fore-shadowing" is intended to indicate that a character is going to die - or at least to make us think one of them is for the next several months.
I'm leaning towards the former, but given the nature of the show it could easily be that one of them will end up only mostly dead in some dramatic sweeps-period plot twist and recover by the end of the two-parter. (I'm not getting cynical about television or anything, am I?)
I'm hoping that the shadow thing is more symbolic of the professor's departure than his death. Everyone involved has to realize that a) Mohr has really been an asset to the show (that's one reason CBS offered him his own show) and b) the odds are pretty heavily stacked against any new series. So it would make sense to write hiim out in a way that let's him return if Project Gary crashes and burns in 13 weeks or less. Unless plan "B" is to make him her permanent ghostly "advisor", that suggests that not killing him would be the way to go. But what do I know? If I had my way, Action! would still be on the air and we wouldn't be talking about any of this. )
Argh! Apologies to anyone who saw that before I fixed it. I really shouldn't try to post spoilers before 8 AM.
