Just thought I'd pass this along. Some of you may know that
MCM now carries a new version of a 250W plate amp. Previously, they carried the stock equivalent of the PE 300-794, stock meaning it had the high 30Hz bass boost. But the new version looks to be identical to Adire's 'new' AVA250. It has a crossover defeat switch among other differences. For one, the line level outputs are now true pass-throughs, no longer filtered like PE's amp. This could be good or bad depending on your use for these. The bass boost now appears to match PE's non-boost amp, with an Fc of 19.4Hz, Q=0.732 according to the handy Excel sheet provided by the owner to this forum. R226(56kOhm) and R227(120kOhm) are now the components of interest.
The actual amp section is unchanged. Hope this helps provide options for those interested. I believe MCM has these on special for $99 through Feb.21.
