Free speaker stand...or Monster cables? (1 Viewer)

Buying a 5.1 Aperion Audio setup to go with my new HK DPR 1001. For free I can get a pair of stands ($100) or Monster XP cable kit (100 ft wire, sub kit & connectors valued at $140).

What would you take?

If the pair of speaker stands are nice and match, I'd get those. Keep in mind you can get speaker stands at circuit city for about $50. I would compare them and determine the value and see if it is really worth the $100.

The speaker wire is negotable as far as price goes. Any home thater shop will lower their price buy at least 20% if you get a little ballsy and ask. So in a sense, you are getting about $110 worth of cable. If you go the cable route, make sure you are getting what you want (proper guage and length), not what they are 'giving' you.

Just make sure you are getting the better value.
