Some foreign language series being released by Arrow early next year (source: Amazon UK):

The Protectors (Danish action/thriller series): Season 1 - TBC
Unit One: Season 1 (Danish series) - Monday 21st January

    and

    Borgen: Series 1 & 2 - Monday 4th February (DVD and Blu-ray)
    Borgen: Series 2 - Monday 4th February (Blu-ray)
Borgen: Series 2 - Monday 11th February (DVD).

A listing was added to the BBFC website today for the second series of Borgen, and the first series of Unit One.

The Region 2 UK release of Spiral (aka Engrenages): Series 4, along with the Region 2 UK DVD boxset containing Series 1-4, has been pushed back to Monday 25th March (source: Amazon UK, and titles and their release dates are subject to change). Read recently (think it was in a newspaper) that Sky Atlantic are remaking the series The Bridge. The remake is being called The Tunnel. Have checked Digital Spy, and they posted a news article about The Tunnel a couple of weeks ago. It will be a bilingual production (a co-English/French production). Didn't know though that a US remake of The Bridge is in the works. Had read on Digital Spy later on last year that a pilot was being made of a remake of Those That Kill. Inspector Montalbano: Collection Three (the first four episodes of the second series) was released by Acorn Media UK earlier this month, and Inspector Montalbano: Collection Four (four more episodes from the second series) has a release date of Monday 4th March (source: Amazon UK, and title and it's release date is subject to change). Also read recently (in a newspaper) that a third (and final) series of Borgen is in the works, so I'm guessing Arrow will eventually release a Blu-ray boxset containing all three series.

Australia is a good place for those interested in foreign language tv series on DVD with English subtitles. Most are released on Region 4 DVD by Aztec International Entertainment. http://www.aztecinternational.com.au/tvseries.php

Inspector Montalbano: Collection Five and the second series of Unit One were released on DVD in the UK by Acorn Media and Arrow Films respectively, back in July.At the moment, the third and final series of Borgen is being released on Blu-ray in the UK on Monday 16th December. BBC Four started showing the Italian detective series Young Montalbano (a prequel series to Inspector Montalbano) last Saturday night, so I'm guessing Borgen's third series will air sometime afterwards (end of October/beginning of November?). Young Montalbano: Collection One is being released on DVD in the UK on Monday 14th October. The second series of The Protectors is being released on DVD by Arrow Films on Monday 7th October. A second volume of Van Veeteren Films is being released on DVD by Arrow Films on Monday 25th November. An Italian drama series called Corleone is being released on DVD in the UK on Monday 23rd September by Parradox Entertainment (source of the above release dates (subject to change) is Amazon UK).Not sure when it will be starting on BBC Four, but a series called Salamander will be shown on the channel.

A second series of the original Danish/Swedish TV series The Bridge was shown on BBC Four at the start of this year, followed by the series Salamander (which finishes on BBC Four this Saturday night).Starting soon on UK channel More 4 is a Norwegian series called Mammon.
