Just wanted to mention that Michael Caine's Jekyll and Hyde is out on dvd. I think Platinum released it. I wish someone would release Jack the Ripper with Caine in ntsc. I've been wearing my pal copy up.
Gary - I'd sure love to see a fine director re-make HARVEST HOME for theatrical release with none of the censorship constraints imposed by network t.v, which inevitably crimped that production (to say nothing of a weak lead). And every else: great additions to my initial list. I would also add HBO's FLIGHT OF BLACK ANGEL. I hope studios who own the rights to some of these movies are reading this thread.
Special Bulletin - the 80's video production values might not tax the limits of the DVD format, but it's still a great movie.
The Day After - I second or third or fourth that one.
Jack the Ripper - with Michael Caine. Quick, before I wear out my VHS.
Day One - The Manhattan Project with David Staithern as Oppenheimer and Brian Dennehy as General Groves. Much better than Fat Man and Little Boy.
Winds of War - With the sequel coming out, someone figure the legalities out and get this one released, too.
Raid on Entebbe - These days, this movie would be an obvious choice.
Amerika - A lot of people hated this miniseries, but I think it deserves another look.
Favorite Son - a deliciously trashy political thriller with the chick from Crocodile Dundee and about as much gratuitous nudity as you could get away with on TV.
how about a recent USA one called Time Thrillers or Time Seekers (or something along those lines). I thought it was an interesting story involving time travel.
