Just got done watching a great "war theme" movie and it made me think of some of my favorites. What are your top 5?

These are in no particular order, except for #1, which is my favorite.

    5. - Full Metal Jacket
    4. - Apocalypse Now
    3. - Platoon
    2. - The Patriot
    1. - Saving Private Ryan

    Close, but no cigar:

    Black Hawk Down
    The Thin Red Line

    1. Apocalypse Now
    2. Hotaru no haka (Grave of the Fireflies)
    3. Platoon
    4. Black Hawk Down
    5. The Thin Red Line

FWIW I think HBO's Band of Brothers is the best depiction of World War II.
