Yes, I am glad the show is back.

Love the All in the Family parody at the end. Good use of 3d animation. [IMG]

I dug last night's episode. It's still working quite well and complimented the other three shows on the Fox "Dad" block.

I always love the references that the show makes to older shows, especially cartoons.

I had forgotten that Family Guy was back -- but there
it was, waiting for me on my Tivo.

What a excellent start for season five! A hilarious show! My
favorite part was the black guy and kermit the frog.

If this first episode is any indication of what we are in store for,
season five is going tyo be a hoot!

I thought it was a good, but not great episode. That's still better than most of what's on TV though. [IMG] I'm with Ron on the Kermit gag. "It's back the way you came!" [IMG]

(I think this was the first time I ever enjoyed an episode of American Dad more than the same night's episode of Family Guy. Of course, that was possibly the best episode of American Dad so far.)

re: kermit? what's that a reference of?

i bet someone could make a website on what FG is making fun of. it's so dense. i don't get EVERYTHING =). i dunno if that's good or bad =.

re: american dad. is it a good show? let me know.

It's almost as funny as FG but maybe a notch or two below, I always laugh harder at FG than AD.

The season opener was great lol! But I definitely like angry Stewie better than glingy/loving Stewie. [IMG]

    The Muppet Movie.

    I have said this before....

I think FG plays perfectly for those of us in our late 30s and up.
This is obviously the age range of the writers of the show. The problem
(as in the case of Kermit above) that the pop culture references are
usually from stuff out of the 70's and end up go over their heads of
    younger audiences.

For me, FG is a trip down memory lane. However, I wonder how
many people under the age of 25 got the What's Happening!
    reference on the show?!

^according to that, seth is about 33. he must've watched a ton of reruns =).

i did as well. i think the gags have to do with how much TV/pop culture you absorbed while you are growing up. the more you absorb, the more you will laugh. it's got less&less2do with age. i know of a few teens that know more about old school 50s-70's TV shows (due to TV on DVD) than i do. they have to time to catch reruns+DVD.

glad to see the new season - i just started watching Family Guy, and really like it.

my coworker told me today that they are making a video game of Family Guy. I bet that would be hysterical to play, wouldnt it?

I don't know about video game plans but Family Guy is supposed to be the next Pinball game released by stern. Should be out towards the end of this year. Assuming you have anywhere left to play pinball on location in your area. [IMG]

Yah, good first episode for season 5.

    my favorite quote was

    Stewie: Brian loves Olympia Dukakis!

    Brian: OH, yah I do!

"I'm like that Texas woman that brain damaged her son by holding his head underwater.......I'm Barbara Bush!"

I haven't laughed that hard in so long. I had to pause the DVR while I laughed. My roomate heard me and came downstairs to see what was wrong. I rewound it and played it for him and he busted a gut also.

    Stop mocking me! [IMG]

i'd actually really like to play that, i think. playing as stewie would rule. some of the screenshots look good too.

I kind of liked tonight's episode. The funniest part to me was when the girl said that the hot dogs being flung at her felt like her dad. I mainly thought it was funny because I didn't expect it
