Hi Ken, This sounds like a good deal, but I am concerned that I will have a hard time replacing that broken piece if it does completley break. Is this something that I would have to replace? Also, I was wondering if the clarity in the lens was still good, I understand that dust can be a real problem. This will be my first projector unit and I am still learning about all of these things. Thank you, Matt
The thing that's broken does not affect it at all... its one of those items that kinda slows down turning mechanism- and I cannot possibly see how the whole lens can break off.. its a common problem apparently with people that uses the Hoya lens as putting it on and off requires a bit of force- but again, if I didn't tell you about it, you'd probably wouldn't even know. Also- I know dust is a factor but as you can see, its very low hours so I don't believe dust should be any problem for the unit, and I clean it once a month. Let me know if you have any other questions, and this would make a nice starter projector.
