Interesting.

The link you added mainly points to a quick, but very revealing, test by John Cornicello. I believe he's right. The one point he doesn't mention (or better: emphasize) is the fact that all those different photographs in his test are taken at different distances, but finally viewed at a rather common distance, thus destroying our proper "feeling" for the perspective that's in it.

As usual (welcome again to the Internet) some of the replies below his post are irritating, but again: I think he added a strong point to the discussion.
