This is a tough week for 60s TV icons. First Frank "Riddler" Gorshin and now legendary comic Howard Morris has died at 85. Morris's contributions go way beyond his appearances as Ernest T Bass on TAGS, he was part of TV comedy from the days of "Your Show of Shows".
He also directed and appeared on the Dick Van Dyke show occasionally.

What sad news. Aside from Barney, Ernest T Bass was my favorite part of the Andy Griffith Show. [IMG]

He also co-starred in "Splash" and played the judge in the Billy Joel music video "Keeping The Faith".

I'm a "Splash" fan from way back, so this is sad for me as well.

    Sincerely,

    John Kilduff...

And if I'm correct, he also worked on "Garfield And Friends" as well.

A true original. One of the members of the great comic trilogy of Sid Caesar, Carl Reiner and himself in the early days of television.

My fondest memory of him was on Sid Caesar's takeoff of This is Your Life where he played the uncle of the surprise honoree and wrapped himself around Caesar's leg and wouldn't let go.

    A priceless comic moment!
