emachines Laptop's any good? (1 Viewer)

Hi Gang;

Thinking about upgrading to newer operating systems's.

We use old (his and her's)laptop's now.

Saw the emachines M5312,and it looked like a pretty good deal for what you got (widescreen display/wireless G/Athelon.

Salesperson said emachines have reliability issues-anyone have first hand knowledge???

I don't know about the laptops, but I know that the desktops have a lot of problems and that their customer service is horrible. I can't imagine that their laptops would be any better; in fact, I would wager that they would be worse.

Buy a sony or a dell or an apple or something.

Too Late!!!!!!!!!!!

Just picked up a great Notebook (M5312),and ran into antoher buyer,and she said she had two,and loved them.

It's a risky gamble,but the setup was easy,and I was able to get on my wireless internet system with ease (5 mins).

So far i'm impessed with this baby-time will tell though (finger's crossed).

I have had my eMachine Desktop for a year now and have not had one problem. It works great for anything, unless something went horrubly wrong with their laptops, I would say theyre worth it.

So far it's working way better than my older HP.

Picked up a second one for my wife,and we got the service plan for hers-mine i'm going to gamble without it-yikes.

Can't be any worse than the tech support HP is using.

Guess it's a sign of the times-

They're all contracting support calls overseas.
