DVI to component (1 Viewer)

Anyone know if this would transmit 1080i from component to a Sony hs10 which can do 1080i. The Oppo upscaling would be much better than the Sony's. OPPO 971 by the way.

That would be a DVI-I to Component, therefore, digital to analog. Standard DVDs have CSS as a protocol which prohibits a resolution greater than 480p for an analog image.

Thanks----was hoping this would fool the player into transmitting 1080i----guess not.
