DVD player for 500 to 800 (1 Viewer)

I was only thinking of spending 500 for an uprgraded DVD player but now i am curious what i would get if i spent a few bucks more.

I was looking at a Denon 2200 or a 2900. IS the 2900 worth the extra bucks?

Or perhaps i should be looking for another brand all together?

Any suggestions.

BTW i am not buying Till September "maybe new stuff out then"?

The Denon 2910 will be out by then. Its basically a 2200 with DVI. Retail is only $30 more.

Pioneer's flagship is the 59avi. It can be had for around $950 now. Buy september it should be within your price range.

Other players will also be released by then. In fact, if you dont even plan on buying for another couple of months, dont even waste your time looking now. Wait until the CEDIA expo.

Depends on the time of year. Manufacturers have spent the summer gearing up for CEDIA. They gotta have all their new models out in in the system by x-mas. This typically means a fall release date (just like cars).
