For stereo (or mono) material add 176.4K and 192K.
To clarify, just a handful of DVDAs offer stereo at 24/192. There is no possibility under the current spec for multi-channel 24/192 since the DVDA disc is not capable of carrying that much data.

It is well worth seeking out 24/192 however as the recordings sound wonderful.

Ty:

It would require 4x S/PDIF transmitters/receivers.

To the best of my knowledge, no one is utilizing 4x transmitters/receivers.

On copy protected media, nothing beyond 48K is supposed to pass via S/PDIF. For material that isn't copyright protected, output up to 96kHz is allowed.

Ty,

I forgot to mention something with regards to Hi-Res PCM via S/PDIF...

The 96K restriction is assuming you are sending the PCM data in the clear. Encryption means you can send anything.

As an FYI, Meridian uses S/PDIF transmitters/receivers as a carrier for their encrypted channel (MHR). They have no hardware restrictions on what can / can't be sent.

Cheers,
