What is the signifigance of the name Carfax?
Why did Dracula tie the pilot to the seat instead of turning him into a vampire like the rest? Is it some sort of crusifixtion?

I believe it was Carfax Abbey that Dracula bought from Harker in the original story.
The pilot scene was meant to resemble what he did to the captain of the Demeter - a ship he sailed to London on. He tied that man to the wheel in the original tale.
    Hope this helps!
