If I were going to do The Parallax View, then I would do Alan J. Pakula's trilogy of paranoia...
Klute, The Parallax View and All The President's Men.

FRANCES (Jessica Lange)
and
FRANCIS JOINS THE WACS (Donald O'Connor)
How 'bout Francis Joins the WACS (Donald O'Connor) and I Was a Male War Bride (Cary Grant)?

Rather than doing all three versions of I Am Legend (though comparisons would be very interesting), how about two apocalyptic films starring Charlton Heston made around the same time: The Omega Man and Soylent Green?

As I recall, this was also a Mary Ann Madden contest in New York Magazine many many years ago. The ones I still recall:
1) THE TEN COMMANDMENTS and WITH SIX YOU GET EGGROLL
2) CALL ME MADAM, CALL ME MISTER and DECISION AT DAWN
3) GUESS WHO'S COMING TO DINNER and THE RUSSIANS ARE COMING! THE RUSSIANS ARE COMING!
Coming Next Week: FIFTY MILLION FRENCHMEN
and MY ALL-TIME FAVORITE ...
4) THE BRIDE WORE BLACK and ASSORTED SHORTS
Still miss those contests ...

Sounds like they're just going for marquee title puns. Like WITH SIX YOU GET EGGROLL and CHEAPER BY THE DOZEN, or KEN RUSSELL'S UNCUT BOYFRIEND at the Castro.
That could be a whole other thread.

In the category of "different tellings of the same story":
Emma (1996) and Clueless
O Brother, Where Art Thou and Dude, Where's My Car?
Hamlet (1996 or 1990) and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead; alternatively R&GaD with Lion King 1 1/2.
Admittedly, only one combination here would qualify as a Blu-ray double feature, but beggars can't be choosers.

FRIED GREEN TOMATOES and THE HELP
BARBARELLA and FLASH GORDON
and a surprisingly appropriate WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF? and HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL ( Both films have one couple inviting another couple over for a night of "fun and games".) Sorry they are both SD

I have recreated double bill I've seen at the cinema. Pirates Of Blood River & Mysterious Island - Siege Of The Saxons & Jason & The Argonauts (no disc for Siege, but I did have it taped off the telly). And a couple of Hammers. Paranoic & Kiss Of The Vampire (my first X film, in '64, I think) & The Curse Of The Mummy's Tomb & The Gorgon. It's fun, as I can actually remember seeing those films all those years ago.

A double-feature I enjoy once a year, usually around holiday time for no good reason, is MARY POPPINS with VICTOR/VICTORIA (1982 film). I like it because it would never happen at the cinema. Two sides of Julie and yet always the same sublime Julie. This was not my idea, but one time in San Francisco I saw a double-feature of AUNTIE MAME with THE BOYS IN THE BAND. That combo has stayed with me for some reason.

A Paranoia Party!
Kiddie Matinee (for fans of expressionism):
INVADERS FROM MARS ('53) and NIGHT OF THE HUNTER
Then:
INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS ('56) and THE PRESIDENT'S ANALYST

My first repertory double feature was STAGE DOOR and BRINGING UP BABY at NY's Regency. I was SO unaccustomed to seeing old B&W movies in a theatre but was entertained. Also of note was being in line for the popcorn machine with Jacqueline and Caroline. Ah, those were the happy times. ;)

And, of course, you can't do that without also doing Dr. Strangelove and Fail-Safe.
Now that's a great combo!
I have 'em both (sadly Fail Safe is SD of course, but Strangelove is on BD and in my collection).
That's now on tap here, probably Saturday night.
Thanks, Doc.

Film by Samuel Beckett vs Silent Movie by Mel Brooks - just because they share the same 'in' joke.

Films in "real time" - Rope, The Set-Up, and High Noon.
More paranoia - Blow-Up, Blow Out, and The Conversation.
The man with a code - Le Samorai, Vanishing Point, Thief, and Drive.
- Walter.
