I've also seen "The Girl And Her Trust" but I can't remember a thing about it. Guess I could pop it in today so I can rate it.

Own: 1 (Broken Blossoms, plus have The Girl And Her Trust on the Image DVD "Landmarks of Early Film".)

Even though I think highly of a couple of his films, I can't say I'm going to be seeking more out anytime soon. I am intrigued by the titles of a few of the shorts like "Billy's Stratagem" and "The Old Confectioner's Mistake".

* I've almost certainly seen some of the earlier ones, but I couldn't begin to tell you which ones.

I disagree that Griffith couldn't have been entertaining, though I agree that he isn't (of the films I've seen). But Birth of a Nation would have actually been a very entertaining story if it wasn't such a racist piece of shit. If Griffith had been racially enlightened, things could have been different. As it is, BOAN is racist garbage, and none of his other films approach the entertainment value that BOAN could have had.

I've still got around 4 here to watch. It's rather shocking that most, if not all, of these films are still available so hopefully Kino will release a box set like they did with the Edison titles.

I still don't see how you make a film version of The Klansman without some of the items in BIRTH.
