Digtial cable to receiver hookup help? (1 Viewer)

Could someone pleae tell me the best way to hook up this system- the reciever keeps telling me I am getting analog dts (not sure what this is). I will be connecting the following:
TV-s-input
DVD player-using s video
Digital Cable box
Reciever

It would help if you specified the makes and models of the various pieces of equipment. Cable boxes and receivers vary widely.

Tim,

Digital cable may or may not have an actual digital output. If not, analog sound is all you will get.

Look for a coaxial digital output on the back of the cable box. If there is one, connect it to a digital input on your receiver, and configure it per the instructions in your receiver’s manual.
