Digital coaxial output to analog input ??? (1 Viewer)

Is it possible to connect a digital coaxial audio output from my TV to a device (wireless headphone box) with an analog input. Has anyone gone from digital to analog.
Can I rig up such a connection. Thanks Joe

Nope, can't be done easily. The digital coax output is a PCM coded digital signal, where the analog input is expecting line level baseband audio.

You need to feed it into a receiver first to decode the digital audio

Jason thanks, now what do I do.
The wireless headphones were for the wife who likes to watch TV at night in the bed and I thought I could get some peace and quiet. Running it to my receiver(living room) first would mean I'd have to turn on the receiver for her to use the headphones in the bedroom ?

You could buy a cheap digital to analog converter (DAC).
Something like this:

What TV do you have? Almost NO TVs have digital OUTPUTS, unless you have a cablecard.
