My friends at work insisted that I install a hardware router that has some firewall protection to use in conjunction with my Norton Firewall.

Being new to this DSL/ network stuff I want to make sure THIS indeed acts as a firewall even though the box just says it has a "NAT"??

I don't plan on networking anything since I only operate the one PC.

Any pointers to setting this up, or is at simple as plug and play so to speak?

Thanks for any input you may have.

NOTE: I'm using Valor DSL on a Windows 2000 HP.

That should be perfectly fine. Routers are generally shipped with all software ports closed and/or stelthed which is all a firewall does. If you're using that along with Norton, you should be fine.
