Lets say you are buying your first HTIB and you don't want to build your own system. You walk into the store and there are only two HTIB systems the choose from. The Denon dht-1513 and the Yamaha yht-599. Both cost the same ($500). If you had to chose one of these for your home entertainment system (movies 50%/ music 50%), which one would you chose and why?

I personally got the denon as my first. Still use it, but about to upgrade. I've read that price is worth the speakers alone. I'm keeping the speakers, getting two Boston A towers and a 7.1 receiver. I'd go denon just for the speakers.

I didn't get either. I have opted to build my own, which will give me a better system for just a bit more cost. I have ordered the Denon e-300 receiver, which had a crazy low price of $274 from amazon on cyber monday (it is now back up to $349). In the pocess now of figuring out which speakers to get. When the smoke clears, I can have a pretty decent (not great/not bad) system for nearly the same price as the HTIB.

My concerns with the packages above... the 1513 was limited in capability and HDMI ports. Also, it does not come with the equalizer system. The Yamaha yht-599 comes with a great receiver, which is much more complicated than I want/need. Although it comes with an equalizer system, it is the YPAO system. From what I have read, the audessy is preferred.
