Does anyone know when the 4803 will be coming out or if it will? I just purchased the 4802 and i'm wondering if it is in my best interest to return it and wait for a 4803 or if the features will be closely the same?

Thats about right. Eventhough the 3803 is out I dont think the 4803 will be out at this time, as the 4802 was behind a few months of 3802. I would still think that the 4803 will be out before the fall of 2003. If I were you I would have waited for the 4803 not because I would have gone for the 4803 but because then I would have gotten the 4802 at a bargain price.

Well, I was able to pick up the 4802 for $1600. That was my main reason for buying it when I did. But that answers my question! What kind of features were added between the 5800 and the 5803? Does Denon offer upgrades to their higher end models or just the 58xx class?

If you can wait for PLII and DTS-ES upgrade I think the outdated B&K 307 for about $1700 would be a considerable step up above 4802, both in terms of sound and flexibility. Just a thought.

Where did you find the information regarding an upgrade to the B&K 305/307? I looked at the B&K website and didn't see any mention of an upgrade.

I have read rumors about an upgrade for the Ref30 also. How is this upgrade different from the 30x receiver upgrade? What about price and availability?

A salesman at Tweeter told me that the upgrade for the 307 and Ref 30 is due sometime this summer. I dont know how far that is true, but I would think that sooner or later B&K would do the upgrade. I heard the upgrade is the same for the 307 as well as the Ref 30 that will make it equivalent to the respective latest units, minus the balanced inputs.

Also they are not internet savvy and so after the whole world knows about their products and after their products start selling in the market, their IT guy wakes up and updates their site and goes back to sleep for the next few years. Otherwise how do you explain their non-responding e-mail address? I have never ever in my entire audio life received any response to any of the questions that I e-mail them about.
