If so would that be the first R1 16:9 enhanced adult title? I doubt it, I know that some european adult DVD's are "enhanced" (insert joke here), such as the one's starring Brigitte Lahaie, so I am sure somebody has released one here in the past.

Certainly not Caligula though, 4:3 widescreen and not a very good transfer at all. Historically accurate? Nahh. Close to what the real Rome was like? Maybe....but I doubt it, maybe the perversion of corrupt Rome. Worth it for the cheese factor? Yes....but I also think McDowall gave a great performance as Little Boots. Also the sets were rather impressive....it's a shame they had Tinto Brass filming them or they might not have turned out looking so pedestrian and dull.


Also....you mean people actually m...m...masturbate to these films sometimes? I...I'm SHOCKED! The very thought! Who'da Thunk it! :rolleyes

Since I'm an admin I cannot really tell everybody what I think of these two paragraphs. But I will say that such harsh rants and judgments do not belong here.

Look, in my work for a daily newspaper, I've had the privilege of speaking with some notable performers and directors in this industry (among them, the world-famous Jenna Jameson). Though I cannot speak about their personal lives, I can tell you that the people in this industry with whom I've spoken have struck me as particularly articulate. In addition, I've detected absolutely no shame on their part in what they do.

Porn is a major, major economic engine, bigger than mainstream Hollywood. And it exists in response to demand. People come and go, some hurt, most not.

So, let's not use this thread for moral judgments.

My favorite porn movies are those by Rinse Dream (Stephen Sayadian), whose Cafe Flesh is probably the best known title, but who also did even more abstract art-porn with even stranger set design (Night Dreams II and Party Doll a Go-Go being the most amusing).

Maybe if porn production _was_ taught in film school there would be more quality productions like that, and there'd be fewer productions that fit the mold of that rant. But as long as sex is viewed as something bad rather than as an emotionally powerful form of recreation, things will probably be ever-more like the rant. Ironic, eh?

The biggest problem with the Caligula disc is that it used the same master as Image's LD, and it looks terrible. No, this isn't the finest in cinema, but it is a unique work and deserves a proper transfer so it doesn't look like a murky VHS mess.

As for DDD and DIMJ, are they going to be in their correct aspect ratios? Not that I have any plans of owning them.

I always liked Greg Dark/Dark Bros. as well, the right mix of gonzo story line and sex.

I'm wondering what the next titles well be in this line? I think Debbi and Devil are both distributed /owned by VCX. I'm guessing Taboo and the Johnny Wadd series?
