Culver City, Calif. (July 8, 2002) - River Phoenix ("Stand By Me")
and Oscar-winning actor Sidney Poitier ("Guess Who's Coming to Dinner")
star in LITTLE NIKITA, a thrilling Cold War drama that makes its
first-ever appearance on DVD Sept. 17 from Columbia TriStar Home
    Entertainment.
Director Richard Benjamin ("Mrs. Winterbourne") and screenwriters
John Hill (TV's "L.A. Law") and Oscar winner Bo Goldman ("One Flew Over
the Cuckoo's Nest," "Melvin and Howard") have concocted a tense story
that plays on the fears and paranoias that gripped the country during
the waning days of the Soviet Union.
Phoenix is Jeff Grant, an all-American teenager who wants to
attend a military academy. During a routine background check, FBI agent
Roy Parmenter (Poitier) uncovers evidence that makes them both suspect
Jeff's parents are Soviet agents who have been trained to blend in with
    the American lifestyle.
As Parmenter moves into the house across the street, Jeff learns
more about his traitorous family, leading to explosive results.
LITTLE NIKITA: A Columbia Pictures Production. Also starring
Richard Jenkins, Elizabeth Grant, Caroline Kava, Richard Bradford.
Associate Producer Gail Mutrux. Produced by Harry Gittes. Written by Bo
Goldman and John Hill. Directed by Richard Benjamin.

Glad to see this is not another "full frame" disaster.
