And I'm lucky enough to have it. It is spectacular.
My copy of IAMMMMW arrived from Amazon today.
(This is the first time I've ever double-dipped on Blu-ray!)
If I knew how to make animated GIFs I'd do one of George Costanza double dipping the chip.
I have an order number. Woot! I must have been number 999.
Where is the "order-number" . O ordered mine back in Oct 31- could have been the 1st or 2nd HTFer but I am in Europe and that delayed things.
Brad here. I just got the blu-ray of this movie (the 159 min version) a few months ago and now they bring out the "holy grail" of this flick, the full monty 197 min version.
Add it to my wish list on Amazon (but I'll buy direct from Criterion).
RIP Sid Caesar:
May Sid Caesar have fun at the big W in the sky. We will miss him here.
We've been losing so many lately. So sad.
Good bye Mr. Caesar. Thanks for all the laughs.
Heard this in the car, and pulled over to stop and listen to the NPR segment. RIP, sir.
Sad news indeed.
Hardware shops would never be the same after Sid's unforgettable contribution.
How many members of the cast are still with us?
Mickey RooneyCarl ReinerBarrie ChaseJerry LewisMarvin KaplanStan Freberg
A tribute to Mr. Caesar's comic genius: Sid and Nanette Arguing to Beethoven's 5th.
With Mickey Rooney the only main cast member left. This makes the movie that more special.
And Nick Georgiade of "The Untouchables," who was the second cop at the crash site.
Think I'll watch a laserdisc tonight.
My copy of IAMMMMW did not arrive yesterday. What did arrive was a £12.39 tax bill. £4.39 to the government and £8 handling fee. This is in addition to the 65p Amex charged me for buying the discs. Plus a 10-mile drive to collect the discs.
Reluctantly I've decided to let the discs get sent back to Amazon.com. I'd rather not see the film than give our taxman and our Post Office their hard-earned money. They can have the expense of sending it back.
That's the spirit. B&N are usually a lot better with customs so maybe try with them in June/July when it'll be available for $25.
I'm not surprised. I find that items from Amazon which are over the tax limit frequently get caught. I can understand the tax but the Post Office handling fee is extortionate. I'm still waiting for my bill
Well if you've got it from Amazon you can just pay the tax upfront and avoid the handling fee altogether. Select Expedited shipping and they'll add the tax to the order, and you'll never see a customs bill again.
