Bruce you were right about this being what we hoped for. Never doubted you, but damn glad you are correct.

What concerns me a bit is the listing on Critereon's page for this on the aspect ratio. It is listed as 2:35:1. is the the intended AR for this film in the general release? or should it be 2:76:1 as is already released on the current MGM disc? Also if this is the case, what will be the AR of the 197 min. version?
I noticed that too...i hope Robert will give us a answer to that.

I suspect the AR information on Criterion's page is an error, as it frequently is when they add new titles.

Happily for me (or rather my wallet), these releases are all ones I can wait for the 50% sale. VERY glad the MANY fans here got the great announcement today they've been waiting for so long!

Often little details will get adjusted after the first rush of posting. Don't fear about the ratio, the disc WILL be correct.
I believe you can now share some technical details of what you viewed during your visit.

I know how much you love this movie, Ron, and can understand some info getting lost in the excitement.

Thank you, Mr. RAH, sir. For everything.

(It's probably hard to tell, but I am bowing very deeply. Hard to type this way, but hey, it's a special occasion.)

RAH, in the early days of your research for restoring this film, you indicated that your dream package would include a SmileBoxed version of the film. What are your thoughts now?
