I just got a new HDTV and before I go spend some money on cables, I was wondering if someone could lend me some help on what my best connections should be.

    Specs:
    Mits 55411
    Onkyo SR800
    PS2
DVD player (not sure which one yet, but it will be coming soon)

What cables do I need to hook up my Onkyo, do I run my DVD player (PS2) through my reciever, etc..

    Please help!!!

Your Mitsubishi should have 2 or 3 component inputs, so connect your PS2 and DVD player directly to the TV with component cables. That way you're assured the best quality. There's no need to run devices through the Onkyo unless you run out of itputs on the TV. Get an optical cable for your PS2, and depending on your DVD player, either an optical or coaxial digital cable. Those audio cables connect directly to the Onkyo.
