I've bought a new TV, the last one had the red & white audio cables connecting the TV to the Panasonic DVD Player/Surround Sound and this allowed 5.1 while watching cable tv. I've set the new TV up the same way but surround sound only works when watching DVDs. The DVD player/surround sound has no Optical cable connection. The tv does, the TiVo box too. The tv and TiVo are connected with hdmi's and the DVD player and tv with a scart (plus the red & white cables). I just want surround sound while watching cable, any suggestions?

Hi, there are no red & white cable sockets in the TiVo box. Just a scart, optical and hdmi:/

These things have been made since 1983.
