Computer feezes at Welome screen =\ (1 Viewer)

I'm using Xp Pro. I can only boot in Safe mode with networking. I disabled every 3rd party driver at bootup & downloaded all the critical drivers through Windows update but still no luck, it just freezes at the blue Welcome screen.

Before this happened I installed a buncha DV editing tools such as AVIsynth, the latest Vdub, vfwwfd. I just uninstalled them all, will reboot in hopes that it will work.

Oh and I tried booting with the XP Pro install CD and selecting the repair option. I go through the menu until it asks for the administrator password. I never set it so when I leave it blank it returns me to the command prompt. I'd like to shake the guy's hand who thought of that.

Hate when this happens.
