This is the one to own. I first purchased this DVD from Europe (I can't recall which country) because it had a 16x9 transfer and a director commentary track. It was, however, loaded with aliasing and pretty much look like crap.

I was advised that the German release, which I now also have, was visually much better. True, true. It looks fantastic -- short of being Blu-ray it is as good as I could ask. NO aliasing issues. Typical of Universal, most of the grain has been removed, but it is so much better than any other video edition I've seen that I would recommend it regardless. Great color and contrast. If you can deal with the PAL speed-up (this edition runs about 96 minutes, down from the original 100), I would suggest you not hesitate in buying if on Amazon Germany:

It does not feature the commentary, but has a few minor special features. Thing is, it looks fantastic!
