I'm busy cleaning out and storing old archives of email tonight, and ran across something I hadn't seen in a while. While it's HTF related, I'm sure most of us occassionally can look into the "way back" machine with email :)

My how this baby has grown :)

Oddly, I should still have all the Delphi email stored somewhere from 1996/7.

Chris,
I joined just a few weeks after that second email.
Always wondered how many members there were then....now I know, about 3,000.

Chris,

I don't normally step into this area,
but I happened to stumble across this
post and it brought a smile to my face.

WoW!

I am emailing Parker and showing him this.

Very funny. I have to laugh when I think back then what everyone was talking about on the forum. It would be interesting if somewhere archived are some posts from the early days of the forum. I remember the:

"When will Paramount release movies on dvd?"

"Does anyone think we will ever see Star Wars or Godfather on dvd?"

"If studios back Divx...will regular dvd's survive?"

"First dvd recorders available...for $10,000"

:D

*laugh* see, now I had to open up WinD which I still had archived. Here are a few of the thread topics:

DTS & CAV are why Laserdisc will survive! (27 replies)

Do Cables make any damn difference?

MSBTech's Multichannel Denon Upgrade: anyone done it?

Along with numerous other posts. Man, there are days I really miss something like WinD. :frowning:

2 reasons we may never see the complete end to Laserdisc players....

1-Star Wars Trilogy unedited.

2-Criterion discs that will never come to dvd.

I posted this in a thread in the HD forum. But, thought it might fit here...

I have to laugh a bit when I see pics of the new Blu-Ray players. I just bought a used laserdisc player to replace the crap one I had. And while researching which one to get. I saw pics of ld players from when they first came out till the last new players made. And how we must have looked in awe at the first machines and now we look at the older players(even when ld players were still popular)and saw how old & out of date they look.
And while on the subject. We were in awe how much better Ld's looked over vhs...then Dvd's over Ld's and now HD-dvd over dvd.

(Yes, I know some of you big LD fans will say they are stil great. I am saying generally.
