Steve, the big deal is actually this...the hair was probably there ever since the film was first processed. Many older films have had this problem, including Gone With the Wind and The Wizard of Oz. The rain issue is a problem because it is a flaw in the restoration, not the original film. I can live with flaws that were originally in the release version in 1941. It is just a shame that the rain issue could probably have been avoided with just a little more attention to detail. Besides, in my post I stated that the problem with the rain has kept the release from being perfect. The fact that it is not perfect should not deter people from discovering a breathtaking release of a great film.
