Hello All.

I am designing my first Home Theater in my new home and need some advice for processing and powering.

I have a $2000 (approx) budget for a receiver and amplifier.

Though sound is more important than looks, I seem to be drawn toward Emotiva for it's design and am leaning toward that route, but I am open to suggestions

This is my speaker configuration

SVS MTS-01 (x2) - Power handling: 20-250 watts / 4-6 ohms
SVS MTS-01 (x2) - Power handling: 20-250 watts / 4-6 ohms
SVS MBS-01 (x2) - Power Handling 20-150 watts / 8 ohms

Here are 3 different EMOTIVA sound processing configurations I am considering:

1. Emotiva UMC-1 / Emotiva UPA-2, Emotiva UPA-2, Emotiva UPA-1
2. Emotiva UMC-1 / Emotiva XPA-5
3. Emotiva UMC-1 / Emotiva XPA-2, Emotiva XPA-3

Which of these configurations would give me the best performance witout driving the amplification to max power?

Thanks

Unless you have a very large room, I would just go with the XPA-5. You aren't going to drive any of these amps to max power IMO. If you decide to go 7.1 in the future then you could add an XPA-2 for the mains and be good to go.
