The Wizard is out in Germany under the title "Joy-Stick Heroes" ( I think, check IMDB). I believe it's German dub only tho

And I thought i was the only one who saw Surf II ;) What a cast that was in the movie. I feel I need to add to the list. How about:
Cloak and Dagger
Back to the Beach
Oh the list could go on.

Some of these may border on cheese, atleast good cheese. They've certainly all aged quite well, if you ask me:
SUMMER LOVERS
NIGHT OF THE COMET
VALLEY GIRL
RECKLESS
LAST AMERICAN VIRGIN
FIRSTBORN
THE WILD LIFE
LITTLE DARLINGS

And, of course, all of those highbrow films with titles that begin with PRIVATE...SCHOOL, LESSONS, RESORT--is that all? Then move onto HOT...

Anyone remember the movie "Hunk"? I remember seeing it on USA years ago. It's about a nerdy computer guy that gets turned into "Hunk Golden" by a female version of the devil. Complete cheese, but would be fun to see again.

Anyone remember a movie from 1984 called "Joey". It's about a teenager with a cheesy 80's band whose father was the lead singer of a band that had a hit record in the 50's. The son's band ends up backing oldies acts in a reunion show where the father's old band is booked to perform without their "lead singer" because no one knows how to find him.

I would definitely purchase this one if it were to become available.

As a side note, H.O.T.S. was one of the first DVDs I purchased along with "The Hollywood Knights", another cheesy 80's flick.

When you say Chessy in your subject, did you mean to say "Cheesy", as in charming, but less than great films, or did you mean "Chesty" referring to certtain anatomical exaggerations zoomed into in certain films?
Based on your selection, it was hard to tell which definition fits better. :D

I somehow don't think that Kathleen's original list falls under the "Chesty" category you were thinking of. It's the guys (including me) here who went in that direction. :rolleyes

Hunk was classic!!! Came out around the same time as another cheezy classic Hamburger: The Motion Picture
Of course, a couple of other favorites of mine would include Joysticks, Campus Man and Hardbodies
Loverboy and Secret Admirer have already been shown on HBO-HD (HDTV), looked pretty good.

I second Joysticks as some prime 80's cheese - and I thought I was the only person who remembered it. Now lets see: Hardbodies, Surf 2, The Beach Girls, Joy of Sex, Last American Virgin, Hot Moves, Secret Admirer, Preppies, Screwballs, Spring Break and all of the "Partick Dempsey Classics".

Thank goodness for the recent DVD releases of: UHF, Making the Grade, Fraternity Vacation, Midnight Madness and Real Genius.
