Today we had to speak with Michael, the Director of Marketing for Digital Projection. One of the issues with projectors that use lamps/bulbs is the noise, heat and degrading light output that occurs over time.

Digital Projection today is announcing the first available 3 chip LED projector the TITAN 1080p LED 3D and also showing their entry level single chip LED, the M-Vision LED 1000. We had a chance to view both of these projectors in their theater and the results looked very impressive, particularly with blacks. We are planning on getting a M-Vision LED 1000 for review.

Check out the video to get all the details.

Interesting. From what I understand LED light output does indeed degrade over time and is dim from the beginning compared to traditional lamps.

What is the benefit of beyond REC 709 in a home application?
