I went to Best Buy today to pick up Master and Commander CE and Wild Things Unrated (I live with 3 other roommates and they all chipped in to see the Unrated version.)

I had the girl at the register in Best Buy stick it to me about buying Wild Things Unrated.

She kept trying to push the second one on me saying that Susan Ward was naked in it and then listed other movies for me to get that had "lots of naked girls for you."

She then turned to my girlfriend, who was standing with me and does not care about what I buy, and asked her if it pissed her off that I would be buying a movie with naked girls.

I was pissed.

Sure, I was buying Wild Things for the skin, but I don't need crap from an employee of the store who I am giving my hard earned money give me crap about what I buy.

Have any of you had embarassing or frustrating experiences similar to this??

I should have just walked out and taken my business elsewhere.

You should have told her "Your first mistake was thinking that opinion mattered, your second mistake was thinking that you did."

That would have shut her up quick, then you should have filed a complaint with the manager and walked out without buying anything.

Damn right! It's better than yours.

Definitely would have talked to a manager about it and tried to have gotten her discplined. F**kin BB employees are the worst and that is why I never go there.

I've never had that happen to me and I don't know how I'd react if it did. I might say something like, "Of course I want to see films with naked women. You big dummy!"

Seriously, I used to buy Playboy DVDs and Playboy magazines quite regularly at Hastings and I was never hassled by anyone. If they don't want people buying it, then why do they sell it? You had every right to get pissed off. That woman was a big-mouthed bitch and a damned idiot as well.

And I, too, purchased the "Wild Things" (Unrated Edition) DVD today.:D :emoji_thumbsup:

Yeah, I generally and by that I mean never want the person ringing up my purchase to give me their opinion on said purchase. Although, the guys that think she might have been trying to come on to you and your girlfriend could have a point.

I think it was flirting too. Harmless flirting.

But onto more pressing matters . . . which one of the 3 of you keeps the DVD?

That's almost the opposite of my experiences at Best Buy. When the cashier does actually show interest in what I've purchased, usually they're the ones asking me if one of the movies I'm getting is good or not (and I usually buy stuff that's been recommended or which I would recommend, having already seen it). Wow, a Best Buy employee who actually KNEW movies! Will wonders never cease?

By the way, I agree, the girl wants a threesome with you and your girlfriend. I hope for your sake you didn't blow the opportunity.

I would think it was flirting also if she had not had a serious attitude when saying it. I've had them joke before with me about similar movies and I had no problem with it, I would just flirt back. I am no fool, I do well with the ladies. If she was flirting, she is horrible at it.

But this girl had venom as she said it.

You could tell that she probably had her boyfriend cheat on her with some hottie because she was all sour grapes. I should have told her to hit the treadmill.

As for the DVD, it will probably end up as mine.

I have the most DVDs of the group and it will probably end up on my shelf and will go with me when I move.

I have PS2 games that I never paid for. My roommates would buy them and then since they had no system, would let me take them knowing they can come and get them when they finally get systems.

I have to say I agree with the sour grapes assessment. I would have told ole Gloria Steinem there that I wanted to see the manager immediately and waited in line while he arrived to explain his employee's compulsion to render her morality upon you based upon her disapporval of your choice of purchase.

Alternatively you could have said something on the order of "Wow - you really know your porn! So what did you think of that hot lesbian scene in -- insert porn film here --? I mean that strap on was HUGE!" Or something to that effect. *snicker*

If it makes you feel any better, since you bought these movies new release week, they probably lost money on your dvd purchases, so in a way you stuck it back to them by buying them.

Too much trouble for me if I went to the manager and filed a formal complaint for a worker that I will only see for a couple of mintues and is making $7.00 bucks per hour.

And it was conversion with no threats, and from the looks of it there was no delay or troubles in ringing you up.

Uncomfortable? I might be, but I'm out there with my product in less than a minute. No biggie to me.

Would you like to come to a ménage à trois?
There´s room for one more body in our boudoir.
Would you care to try a little un-deux-trois,
Everyone will get a chance to be a star.

Hey there, sexy
Watcha doin´?
You´re looking kinda lonely over there.
Me and my baby,
we wanna party.
And we´d love for you to join us if you dare.

Twice is nice but three´s divine
What´s hers is yours is ours is mine
If you´re in the middle better hold on tight!

Would you like to come to a ménage à trois....

I say this in almost every thread about retail employees, but can we PLEASE stop with all the bashing of retail employees saying they are all stupid and dont know a thing?
This may be taken as thread farting, but attacks towards the anonymous Best Buy, CC, Blockbuster, whatnot employee could be talking about someone on this forum. Like me. I happen to be one of those employees you are grouping together into the "morons at (fill in the blank)" It just bothers the hell out of me reading all this bashing going on. What if we start threads bashing every walk of life and job out there? Maybe then we can all be equal opportunity offenders?

Sean,

No offense to you, but the employees at Best Buy are REALLY bad. One time I was just browsing around the electronics department and I had a guy try to explain to me how plasma TVs have to be recharged with plasma gas and how they will only last for 5000 hours. I mean, come on! Instead of putting him in his place like I should have I just walked away. The BB employees have to be the least knowledgeable employees at any retail store on the planet.
