I recently bought a used car & I like everything except the audio. I can not believe how high pitched and tinty (bright?) it is. To give you an example. I have been listening to an ipod in my other car for years. In this car I have the ipods eq set on "treble reducer". Then I have the cars eq with the bass all the way up and the treble turned down about half below center. The midrange is also turned down. Ths gets the music to where I can tolerate it, but it still hurts my ears after a while. All the cymbals and other high frequency sounds stand out far more than the other frequencies. Some songs I can not hear the bass.

Now what can I do about it? I want to spend as little as possible. Will just changing the 5" speakers do the trick, or is the cause the radio? Are there any 5" speakers (I know that's small for bass) that would help? Any thoughts?
