pardon the ignorance, what is the "un certain regard" category?

also, anyone know what's the status with WKW's 2046? I recall several interviews/mentions of 2046 being ready in time for Cannes [IMG]

Regarding "2046," isn't Christopher Doyle the cinematographer? I read that they just aren't finished filming yet and the CG work hasn't begun.

Wasn't Tarantino's Kill Bill scheduled for a special 'out of competition' screening at this year's Cannes?

I thought 'The Brown Bunny' would have won the Palme d'Or based on the word during the festival. [IMG]

Looking forward to Elephant now. What was the response towards Dogville?

I wonder if Dogville has any shot at the Best Pix Oscar now. No boost from Cannes can't be good for it.

I guess Elephant is a documentary, is that correct? If so I would think it would be a lock for one of the 5 doc nominations.

No "Elephant" is a movie and Gus Van Sant won the best director for it also.
