I am ordering an svs next Friday (yehaa!) and I am looking at placement. I have a nice corner where I would like to put it. However, it will only be about 18 inches away from my JBL e90 mains. Is this proximity likely to cause any problems? My only other option is to place the sub along the side wall- which doesn't seem to be a good idea. Thanks mucho!

Close to your mains is actually better typically, but whether it is a problem or not really depends on your room, not just your speakers. Properly crossed over, your mains and sub should not overlap in a bad way, so it should not cause a problem. Shoot for a corner in general.

i have my sub directly behind my right main and have no problems. people often assume my mains are creating all that base. poor little naive folks.
