For the time being, the Studio Canal import releases like Total Recall, Rambo, and Basic Instinct have some really good calibration patterns built in.

If you go to AVS and search under "HD DVD software," you find an HD DVD test pattern thread where 'Dr. Z' created some HD DVD test patterns which are said to be accurate. You can download them and burn them as an ISO file to a DVD+R, etc. presuming you have a DVD burner.

For HD color decoding, be sure use pattern 709 (instead of 609 which is SD).

Greetings

DVE HD DVD version has been postponed yet again. No new release date.

Some items to solve right now ...

Potential compatibility issues with Gen 2 players.

I've been using the Dr's test disc for now ... and it compares well to the HD signal generator.

Sorry for the double post...

Compatibility issues? Even with the 360 HD Drive? I know the specs are different with the gen 2's, but why is Joe Having so much trouble?

Will DVE offer the best HD visuals ever seen on HD DVD?

No one knows, but that doesn't matter. The point of the disc is to provide accurate testing patterns and audio signals so one can fully calibrate his HD DVD player to his display, equipment, etc.
