Interesting. I wonder if we get other Disney movies on 3.12 as well.

I've always thought this movie was vastly underrated. (The first one; the sequel isn't bad as made-for-home video sequels go.)

Dang nab it...now I have a hankering for the soundtrack, particularly "God Help the Outcasts."

I've also seen Mulan 1&2 and Brother Bear 1&2 listed for the same date on another forum. Waiting for confirmation in the way of pre-order or official announcement.

I remember Mulan 1/2 being floated here somewhere...and a little digging shows a Mulan 3 disc set coming on March 12. Along with Brother Bear 1/2. So it looks like we're getting another wave of Disney product in March, including Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

    Another expensive day.

And Wreck-It Ralph should be released around the same time frame as well. Time to start saving!

Why is Aladdin taking so long?

Aladdin will probably be one of their Diamond titles and those come out sparingly. Peter Pan and The Little Mermaid are on deck for next year. In any event, I think Disney has said they want the Diamond line to be completely out by 2016...so that may be your answer.

Hopefully this is transferred from the CAPS files and not a dirty film print like the DVD was. And yes, this is an extremely underrated movie. The score and songs here are Alan Menken's best work ever IMO.

Yes, the cover art is graphically nice, except that it puts those three insufferable comedy relief gargoyle sidekicks in the foreground and the main star way behind them...

Given Aladdin's sudden pulling from announcements, it's started rumors that it's been taken back for some sudden last minute tinkering in the lab--
Like, for example, a 3D version for '14, to keep the annual releases going and complete the 90's Big-Four set of Lion King, B&B, and next fall's Mermaid. Pure speculation and circumstantial evidence, but a good theory for the facts.
At least it was more entertaining than that claustrophobic 90-minute infomercial for the stage musical that Hunchback was. :P
(An animated musical about human characters standing around big stages singing? The post-B&B Katzenberg-era corporate tie-in synergy with Disney Theatrical had gone one step too far over the cliff, and they'd forgotten what you use the ink and paint for.)

Oh, if Aladdin didn't get a 3D release, I'd be completely shocked. Disney now knows if they put some money into a 3D conversion of one of their "greats," they bring in very close to $50 million in a theatrical run and then they get to sell the 3D BD version for $35, too. No doubt in my mind Aladdin is coming. If it's 2014, so much the better.

    Where, Ron?
Am anxious to know if the extras from the laser disc box set are included, as they were absent from the DVD.
