BURBANK, Calif. May 16, 2014— The Muppets are back in the globe-trotting, star-studded musical comedy adventure Disney’s “Muppets Most Wanted,” available on Blu-ray Combo Pack, Digital HD, DVD, Disney Movies Anywhere, and On-Demand August 12th, 2014, from Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment. Starring Ricky Gervais, Ty Burrell, and Tina Fey, this must-own family film makes its in-home debut with THREE versions of the film: The Original Theatrical Cut, the Statler and Waldorf Cut,  and The Unnecessarily Extended Cut, featuring hilarious bonus content, plus more music, more mayhem, and more Muppets!

The #1 comedy in America three weeks in a row, “Muppets Most Wanted” picks up immediately following the events of the smash hit “The Muppets,” as Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Animal and the entire Muppet gang head out on a world tour. But mayhem follows, as the Muppets find themselves unwittingly entangled in an international crime caper headed by Constantine - the World's Number One Criminal and a dead ringer for Kermit the Frog!

Now Muppet fans can experience this laugh and song-filled caper like never before on Blu-ray Combo Pack in an all-new “Unnecessarily Extended Edition,” featuring 12 minutes of exclusive scenes not seen in theaters! Also included on Blu-ray and Digital HD are additional hilarious bonus features, including Statler and Waldorf’s version of the movie, and the laugh-out-loud gag reel, “The Longer, Longest Blooper Reel in Muppets History.”

This most sensational, inspirational, celebrational home entertainment release also includes the featurette “Rizzo’s Biggest Fan” and music video “I Can Give You What You Want,” performed by Bret McKenzie.

Starring Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, The Great Gonzo, Animal, Ricky Gervais (“The Office”) as Dominic Badguy, Ty Burrell (“Modern Family”) as Jean Pierre Napoleon and Tina Fey (“30 Rock”) as Nadya the Prison Guard, “Muppets Most Wanted” also features very special guest appearances by Tony Bennett, Sean Combs, Rob Corddry, Celine Dion, Josh Groban, Salma Hayek, Ray Liotta, Ross Lynch, Chloe Grace Moretz, Christoph Waltz, and more!

“Muppets Most Wanted” was directed by James Bobin (“The Muppets,” “Flight of the Conchords”), written by Bobin and Nicholas Stoller (“The Muppets,” “Get Him To The Greek”), and produced by David Hoberman (“The Muppets,” “Beverly Hills Chihuahua”) and Todd Lieberman (“The Muppets,” “The Fighter”).

Very cool. Looking forward to it - hilarious movie. Here's hoping the "Statler and Waldorf Cut" bonus could be quite funny, too, in a faux MST3K style perhaps?

    Brandon,
Was this a good Muppets movie?I love the Muppets. Thought their comeback over a year ago was
great. Was hoping this film was just (or nearly) as good.

I thought it was better than The Muppets (2011) by a slim margin. I'd go 8/10 for the previous film, and 9/10 for Muppets Most Wanted. Definitely some of their funnier songs, and some zanier comedy, and while not as nostalgic as the previous film it still had a few "feel good" Muppety sentimental moments. It's not perfect, and with so many jokes not all of them hit, but I laughed from start to finish. Also has the best assortment of celebrity cameos since the original Muppet Movie (1979).

I think the critic who called it "The Good Muppet Caper" got it right.

I wonder what's in those 12 extra minutes. It's nice to know Disney didn't forget they could always use seamless branching.

August 12 is going to be an obscenely expensive day...

I'd go the opposite of Brandon. I thought the first Muppets was better because the things I expected to see in a Muppets movie (the entire TV show opening song, for instance) is there. The songs were better and it felt fresher. In the sequel, the characters are all idiots for no reason other than to make the movie. If they had a shred of intelligence, there wouldn't be a movie.

But we did see Most Wanted in the theater opening weekend...and enjoyed it. So...yeah.

Most Wanted was a lot of fun, and had that Muppet feel. My kids and I look forward to the BD.

Didn't the Pixar short, Party Central, precede this movie theatrically? Is it not among the bonus features on the home video release?

Can anyone explain why this title can no longer be pre-ordered at Amazon?

Believe Amazon and Disney are having similar contract negotiation troubles to the Warner debacle not too long ago.

Apparently, as with CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER, this is another pissing contest between Amazon and a vendor-- in this case, Disney. Good luck with that, Amazon.

Thanks! That was my suspicion, but I couldn't find any discussion about this.

I preordered it the first week or so it became available.

    Those orders will ship.

I just cancelled my order, however, and decided to make it an obligated
selection through the Disney Movie Club.

Ditto, Ron, except the DMC piece. If the price doesn't come down, the preorder is going to be cancelled.

Also preordered through DMC, as they run these nice double feature promos, so I got the 2D Little Mermaid at a discount. I like the pre-orders through DMC, especially when the discs arrive 6 weeks ahead of street date (Hercules and Tarzan).

Mine just shipped today from Disney Movie Club along with Bedknobs and Broomsticks, and Adventures of Ichabod/Fun & Fancy Free. Due to the special club offers it came to less than $16 per Blu-ray for me.

Lots of scene extensions. I watched the theatrical DVD as I watched the extended BD and found lots of little bits 'n' pieces added to the longer cut but nothing I'd call a true "new scene"...
