That's not a trailer. This is a trailer.

I don't know what Bungie is selling there, except VP of Blah Blah Blah voiceovers. Maybe the game will be good, but their salesmanship is lacking. Can you imagine sitting in the theater and instead of getting a Hobbit trailer, you get PJ talking about how he's taking movies to the next level with his awesome computer server farm in New Zealand? Zzzzz....

The trailer you are waiting for is the centerpiece of Sony's E3 keynote. Soon. Hang tight.

    Is it a PS3/4 exclusive?

I highly doubt it. From the sound of it they are pouring huge resources into the game, so making it exclusive to one platform wouldn't make any economic sense. I'm pretty sure it is going to be a cross platform game. Bungie releasing on PS4 isn't the best news for XBOX, because it means one less XBOX exclusive game.

It is on current and next-gen consoles (I think this will be the case for many games in the next year or two) but has exclusive PS3/4 content.

Honestly, I don't care. I think Halo is a fun multiplayer game but is otherwise extremely overrated, and really that's all Bungie has done of value in the last 10 years. All the hype aside, this will probably be just a really nice looking and well-tuned FPS MMO on consoles.

The move by Bungie to start releasing on the PS4 is the same as Kojima Productions decision to start releasing MGS games on the XBOX360. So many resources are going into these games that economics, alone, are causing the idea of platform exclusives to become a thing of the past. The failure to recoup development costs is happening so often that the developers and publishers are leaving no stone unturned and no market untouched.

They can't seem too figure out that they need to come up with some fresh ideas. Fantastic graphics on a FPS is fine, but still..........FPS. There is no way to make the genre feel fresh, because the game play is so set in concrete. Video games are in a rut. Every concept has been explored.

I'll be curious to see what Quantic Dream comes up with for the next generation. I was blown away by the semi-innovative (Quicktime on steroids) motion control mechanics in Heavy Rain, which unfortunately were wasted on a stupid torture-porn storyline. (Hopefully Beyond: Two Souls will be better in that regard.)

I just did this, tied both my PSN and XBL accounts to it so it should get me on both. Can't hurt. Unless, you know, they get hacked like everyone then all 3 of my accounts get compromised in one fell swoop.

Been enjoying the beta, waiting for xbone beta so I can play with my nephews. During the PS4 beta I got a level 20 legendary six shooter. The beta only goes up to level 8. Le sigh.

Early impressions I've read seem to say that the game is more or less what the alpha and beta showed and little more. It's Borderlands if it looked and played like Halo.

That doesn't sound too amazing to me.

    Anyone playing it? Thoughts?

I'm level 5 and it's as good or better than the beta, totally playable, stable servers. I'm not far enough in to score the whole game but I'd give it at least a b+ so far.

A friend mentioned that buying the download edition for PS3 or X360 gets you a FREE upgrade to the PS4 or XBone edition.

    Just passing that on secondhand.

I find it funny that the best thing Sam said was that it's totally playable and stable.

Most MMORPGs are unplayable on their launch weeks. I am not a shooter pro but I am a shooter enthusiast. The game is fun as hell for me but I can't say for sure I will be playing it for years like they hope.

I read that a lot of people on PS4 had trouble getting onto the servers at midnight when the game launched but they fixed it during the day. So....even this was sort of unplayable for some.

The reviews so far have been so-so. Last I checked, GameRankings had it at about 76% and Metacritic had 75. That's not bad, but it really is disappointing considering it's Bungie and the sheer volume of hype. A lot of reviews appear to be 5/6 or 9/10, also.

Ars writes:Between Peter Dinklage's embarrassingly phoned-in performance as each player's robotic assistant, the aspirations of storytelling grandeur that never saw fulfillment, and a badly drawn-out side plot about a pair of spoiled, royal siblings who can't make up their minds about helping you, we have to wonder who got paid for putting a plot together here. Destiny's story is a disaster, and it should've been scrapped in favor of "press Start to continue" prompts. (The fact that cut scenes aren't skippable is salt in the wound.)So not for me.

To be fair, Halo has a pretty terrible story. I'm not sure why anyone ever expected much.
